New Construction Roof in Sedona, AZ – TPO, Standing Seam Metal, Shingles and More

A new-construction property in Sedona, AZ required a coordinated roofing and water-management package: Carlisle 60-mil TPO on low-slope areas, 24-gauge standing seam metal at the architectural entry, TAMKO Titan shingles in Thunderstorm Gray on steep-slope sections, custom 24-gauge metal fascia wrap, and 6″ seamless aluminum gutters. No insurer was involved for this new build.

Challenge: Coordinating four systems and flawless transitions on mixed slopes.

The architectural plan combined low-slope roofing, steep-slope shingle planes, a metal entry, and long fascia/gutter runs. The critical challenge was integrating materials at parapet/stucco transitions and penetrations while keeping color, lines, and drainage consistent around the home in Sedona, AZ. The scope required drip edges color-matched to the fascia metal, CMG standard color selections for fabricated metal, and a robust 6″ gutter specification to move water efficiently.

Solution: Manufacturer-specified installs with watertight detailing at every edge.

Our crews installed each system to the manufacturer’s specifications, with special attention to interfaces, parapets, and penetrations. On the metal entry and fascia, we used 24-gauge fabrication and color-matched fasteners; on TPO we used the required accessories, terminations, and cover strips to secure long-term performance; and on shingles we paired the selected color with the specified synthetic underlayment and proper flashing for low-slope sections.

• Low-slope roofing: Installed Carlisle 60-mil TPO in gray; flashed parapet walls 8–12″ and terminated cleanly at stucco with Z-bar; added custom drip edge with a pressure-sensitive TPO cover-strip; used Carlisle accessories (CAV-Grip adhesive, cut-edge sealant, molded pipe seals, vents) and separation components where specified.
• Architectural entry: Rolled and installed 1″ nail-strip snap-lock standing seam (24-ga) with premium high-temp self-adhesive underlayment; fabricated and set eave, headwall, sidewall, and saddle-pan flashings; sealed with butyl tape and matching fasteners for a crisp, durable finish.
• Steep-slope shingle sections: Installed TAMKO Titan shingles (Thunderstorm Gray) over the specified synthetic underlayment; integrated new drip edge and galvanized base flashings; waterproofed all vents and pipe penetrations.
• Fascia and gutters: Wrapped fascia with custom-fabricated 24-ga sheet metal (CMG standard colors), using color-matched rivets and panel/stitch screws; added one metal cap to a column per plan; installed 6″ seamless aluminum gutters (.027″) with 3″×4″ downspouts and color-matched hardware.

Result: A cohesive, watertight exterior that looks sharp and manages water effortlessly.

The property now has a unified roofing system tailored to each plane: robust TPO performance on low-slope areas, clean architectural lines at the entry with standing seam metal, and an attractive shingle field that complements the design. The 6″ aluminum gutters and custom metal fascia direct runoff effectively, protect trim, and preserve the home’s finish—delivering durability and peace of mind for the owner in Sedona, AZ.
